Wait, did the start time change?
Yes. Unfortunately the original reception venue was destroyed by fire in August. The ceremony and reception venues are now twenty minutes apart versus next door to one another. We will now begin the ceremony at 4:30pm to account for the shuttle ride to continue to the festivities. Reach out to the grooms with any questions in advance.
When should I arrive and depart?
Highlands has grown to be one of our favorite weekend getaways and we hope you'll be able to enjoy for a few days as well.
More details on the full weekend schedule are to come, including a welcome event on Friday evening and a casual opportunity to spend more time together on Sunday afternoon.
What are the accommodations for out of town guests?
We've secured room blocks at the Old Edwards Inn and 200 Main for wedding guests. We've suggested additional hotel options on the "Travel" tab, including the Trailborn Highlands, Highlander Mountain House, and Park on Main. Highlands also has numerous home rental options on VRBO and Airbnb.
Check out our 'Travel' page to explore your options and make reservations. Please consider booking early as Highlands does book well in advance.
What's the best airport option for Highlands?
There are multiple options available. Asheville Regional Airport is the closest option at an hour and twenty minutes away. Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport is just under two hours away. Lastly, Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is approximately two and a half hours away but note this can vary widely given traffic.
What can we expect the weather to look like?
November brings crisp autumn weather, with daytime temperatures reaching the mid-50s and nighttime lows dipping into the 30s.
What should I wear?
The attire for our wedding is black tie.
Can I bring my children?
Unless children are specifically mentioned on your invitation, we kindly ask that this be an adults-only event.
Will transportation be provided?
Yes! Shuttles will be available from downtown Highlands to transport guests to and from the Farm and Club venues. We strongly suggest all guests take the shuttle. Pickups will begin on South Church Street and in front of 200 Main starting at 3:45pm. Continuous loops will be made until 4:20pm. If staying in one of the recommended downtown hotels, we suggest you walk to the shuttle stop. If driving into downtown Highlands from elsewhere, you'll find abundant street parking and can then walk to the shuttle.
Can I drive to the venue?
Yes, but we strongly suggest you utilize the shuttle as the roads are quite curvy and dark.
If you decide not to utilize the shuttle service, you may park at the venues. The ceremony is at The Farm at Old Edwards, located at 336 Arnold Road, Highlands, NC 28741. Directly after the ceremony, we will ask you to join us for the reception at the Old Edwards Club located at 688 Highlands Cove Drive, Cashiers, NC 28717. Note GPS can be confusing in navigating to the club. Turn left onto Highlands Cove Drive from Cashiers Road/Highway 64. Proceed to the guard gate and inform them you're going to the Club for the Elliott/McEntyre wedding.
What time should I arrive?
We ask that all guests arrive by 4:10pm so everyone can be seated comfortably before the 4:30pm ceremony.
Can I bring a plus one?
We kindly ask to limit your party to those named on your invitation.
Will the ceremony be taking place indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be inside, the cocktail hour will be outdoors (weather permitting), and the reception will be inside.
